Samrala zone boys (U-14) romped home winners in football in the ongoing 69th Ludhiana District School Games, being organised by the Punjab Education Department at various venues across the district on Friday.
At the Government Senior Secondary School ground, Dakha, Khanna zone and Dakha zone secured second and third positions, respectively, while Raikot zone finished at the fourth place.
In the weightlifting (girls U-17) competition, being held at Naresh Chander Stadium, Khanna, in the below 44 kg weight section, Khushi from School of Eminence, Doraha, Sukhdeep Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School, Manak Majra village, and Jasmeet Kaur from Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Jarag village, secured the first three positions, respectively.
In the below 48 kg weight category, first position was bagged by Khushpreet Kaur of the GSSS, Manak Majra village, while Khushi of Jarg village finished as first runner-up and Hemanpreet Kaur of Lala Sarkaru Mal School, Khanna, won the third spot.
Seerat Kaur of AS Model Senior Secondary School, Khanna, came out triumphant in the below 53 kg weight category. The second spot was bagged by Navjot Kaur of School of Eminence, Doraha, while in the below 63 kg weight section, Yasmeen Kaur of Sant Ishar Singh School, Rara Sahib, and Chahat of GSSS, Sahnewal, secured second place.
In tug-of-war (boys U-14) Raikot zone emerged victorious while the second and third positions went to Khanna and Ludhiana-I zone, respectively, in U-17, Raikot, Khanna and Sahnewal clinched the top positions.
