Rohit Sharma, a 19 -year -old student resident of Govindgarh, was a victim of a road accident. He suffered serious head injuries in the accident near Rajavas on 23 August. Despite the intensive treatment of doctors for several days, the situation did not improve and on August 27, doctors declared Rohit as brain dead. In this moment of sorrow and suffering, Rohit’s family took a big decision and agreed to donate organ. This decision of the family not only immortalized Rohit’s memory but also gave the gift of life to three serious patients. Rohit’s two kidneys and a liver were successfully implanted in needy patients under the supervision of the hospital administration.

Special team of SMS Medical College completed this complex process. Principal of the college, Dr. Deepak Maheshwari, Nodal Officer Dr. Manish Aggarwal and Superintendent Dr. Sushil Bhati monitored the entire system. Additional Superintendent Dr. Girdhar Goyal, optimization in -charge Dr. Chitra Singh and Coordinator in -charge Ramprasad also contributed significantly. In the operation theater, the medical team members worked hard for hours and completed the process of transplantation by removing the limbs.
