Nayak nahi, Khal Nayak hoon main…” is all set to return to theatres! Sanjay Dutt is reprising his iconic character, Ballu Balram, in Khalnayak Returns. Jackie Shroff has also joined the cast, making the sequel even more special. Now, reports suggest that the makers are planning a surprise cameo by none other than Salman Khan. Reportedly, he will be seen in a brief appearance in the role of a cop. While the script is yet to be finalised, the update has left fans excited about the possibility of a reunion between Bhaijaan and Baba.
Salman Khan To Star In Sanjay Dutt’s Khalnayak Returns?
Fans eagerly awaiting Sanjay Dutt’s have another reason to look forward to the sequel to the 1993 hit. According to a report by Mid-Day, the makers are currently working on the script and plan to introduce a special cop character. If that isn’t exciting enough, here’s another interesting update. Salman Khan is reportedly being considered for the role and may don the khaki once again in Khalnayak Returns.
A source was quoted as saying, “The role impacts the narrative. The idea is that the cop, a good Samaritan, will help Sanjay’s character. Who better than Salman to play this helpful character? The casting is not locked yet as the script is still being developed.”
Salman Khan as cop
Subhash Ghai, who directed the original film, is reportedly serving as a creative consultant on the sequel and came up with the idea for the character. When contacted by the portal, he neither confirmed nor denied the news. “It’s too early to say anything. The scripting is still on, and once we have a complete script, we will know where we stand,” the filmmaker said.
If it pans out, this will mark Salman and Sanjay’s reunion after years. The duo has shared screen space in several films, including Saajan (1991), Chal Mere Bhai (2000) and Yeh Hai Jalwa (2002).
More About Khalnayak Returns
The makers released the first teaser of the film in April this year. It offered a glimpse into the storyline and showed Ballu escaping from jail. Oozing his signature swag, Sanjay Dutt was seen smoking a cigarette and singing the iconic Khalnayak track.
