Palash Sen Says ‘Salman Khan Was Part Of The Problem’
In an interview with SCREEN, Palash Sen spoke about the growing difficulty of identifying whether online criticism of celebrities and their films was genuine or part of a paid campaign. He recalled an instance when a film trailer featuring a leading female actor received more dislikes than likes on YouTube. The platform later disabled its dislike feature, but the episode raised questions about whether the negative response was organic or paid.
Palash said there was a difference between positive and negative publicity, but it had become increasingly difficult to know whether what people read about celebrities was true or paid content.
Reacting to ‘s comments on Bigg Boss 20, Palash said, “He’s a part of starting this. Let’s not forget that. Problems never arise from the bottom of the hierarchy; it starts from the top.”
The singer added that people who had maintained their positions in the film industry for years had likely worked with public relations professionals. He suggested that the culture could not be blamed on a few people at the bottom of the industry when established names had also benefited from such practices.
Palash acknowledged that Salman speaking against paid trolling was a brave move. However, he questioned the timing of the remarks and whether the actor’s comments on the show were genuine. He said it was difficult to determine whether the segment had been scripted or was an organic reaction.
