The film’s screenplay, adapted from the book’s first chapter, highlights the bravery of Indian soldiers against the PLA. Salman has reportedly begun his physical training for the role at his Panvel farmhouse. A report in Mid-day confirms that Salman Khan will step into the shoes of Colonel Babu, a heroic figure known for his leadership in multiple counter-insurgency and infiltration operations. A source shared with the portal, “Colonel Babu’s character is heroic. He proved his mettle in several critical operations.”The report further reveals that Lakhia has acquired the rights to the first chapter of the book, titled I Had Never Seen Such Fierce Fighting – The Galwan Clash of June 2020. The chapter chronicles the brave defence of Indian soldiers against the PLA, despite being outnumbered. The screenplay is being adapted by Suresh Nair, with contributions from Chintan Gandhi and Chintan Shah, who also penned the dialogues.

The report further revealed that the Bharat star is thrilled about the film’s storyline and will begin his military preparations at the end of May. He has already started his physical training at his farmhouse in Panvel.For context, Colonel Babu, who commanded the 16 Bihar Regiment during the Galwan Valley clash on June 14, 2020, was martyred while courageously facing off against Chinese troops. He was posthumously awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, India’s second-highest wartime gallantry award, in 2021.

A report in Pinkvilla suggested, Salman Khan and Apoorva Lakhia are gearing up to begin shooting the film in July 2025. Filming will take place in Ladakh and Mumbai over approximately 70 days, starting in July. This will mark the first time Salman plays an army officer in a full-fledged film, with three younger actors joining him in key roles. The source further revealed that the film is slated to begin production in July 2025.
