The new season of Bangladeshi T20 league BPL started from 26 December 2025. But controversies had started even before the start of the 12th season of the league as the owners of its franchise Chattogram Royals had pulled out of the team a day before. In such a situation, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) took the command of the franchise in its hands. Now Pakistani batsman Haider Ali, who is participating in the league, has again embarrassed BPL by raising the issue of old payments.

Haider Ali, playing for BPL franchise Noakhali Express, has created a stir by giving a statement in the middle of the league. The Pakistani batsman said that he has not been able to get the full money for the last season even after a year. Haider Ali said, “BPL is a good tournament but when cricketers do not get salary, it creates confusion in their mind whether they should play in this league or not. I will request BCB to arrange my payment. I was playing for Chittagong last season and I still have not received a big part, which is around 40 thousand dollars (about Rs 36 lakh).”

The special thing is that despite not getting the previous payment, Haider Ali is still playing in this season. Although. There have been complaints about payment of players in Bangladesh Premier League for a long time. In the last season, the situation had reached such a stage that the players had boycotted the training session. The biggest controversy last year was regarding the Darbar Rajshahi franchise, which repeatedly did not pay the players on time. In particular, there was a lot of uproar over the non-payment of money to the foreign players and the players boycotted the training session, while due to this the match was also delayed. Even the Bangladeshi government had to intervene in this.
