The Haryana government has revised the basic rates of minimum wages for unskilled laborers engaged in all types of work in the state. These new rates will be applicable from April 1, 2026. According to a notification of the Haryana Government, this amendment has been made under the provisions of ‘Code on Wages, 2019’. This amendment has been made on the basis of the recommendations given by the committee constituted to review the level of wages.

The notification further states that the minimum wage rates are the basic rates of minimum wage, which the employer is not allowed to divide into different parts in the form of allowance. 100 percent impact (neutralization) of increase or decrease in Consumer Price Index numbers will be on pro-rata basis. This change in wages will be done in the manner described in the ‘Code on Wages Rules, 2026’. The minimum wage rates being fixed/changed now will not be affected due to this linkage.
