The story started from marriage
Mannu Gupta, a resident of Sohanpur in Bankata police station area of Deoria district headquarters, was married to Pooja Devi four years ago as per Hindu customs. In the initial years, the married life of both is said to be normal and happy. Mannu Gupta went abroad in search of livelihood and from here the story took a dangerous turn.
growing closeness to nephew
After Mannu went abroad, his nephew Chandan Gupta found Pooja Devi alone and trapped her in his love trap. Gradually this relationship became so deep that it started being discussed not only in the family but in the entire village. Mannu’s brother Jitendra Gupta saw both of them in objectionable condition several times and tried to convince them, but both did not agree.
Information given to husband
Jitendra Gupta was forced to inform his brother Mannu about this entire matter. Mannu instructed his wife on the phone itself to stay away from Chandan. Pooja Devi outwardly described herself as separate from this relationship, but the reality was something else.
Running away in the night and the scream of an innocent child
On the night of 24 December 2025, Pooja Devi ran away with her lover Chandan with precious jewelery and cash kept in the house. The most painful thing was that he left his three year old daughter alone at home. When the girl woke up, she started crying while looking for her mother. Neighbors arrived after hearing her voice, but found no trace of Pooja.
Police action and discussion in the village
As soon as the information was received, Mannu Gupta returned home from abroad on 30 December 2025. Seeing the girl he wept bitterly. The next day he gave a written complaint against his wife Pooja Devi and Chandan Gupta at Bankata police station. Police station in-charge Vishal Upadhyay has investigated the matter and registered a case and assured strict action. At present, the girl has been kept safe at a relative’s house and various discussions are going on in the village regarding this incident.
