Mohit Suri on Akshay Kumar praising Saiyaara
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Mohit reacted to Akshay praising Saiyaara and his unwavering faith in him as a filmmaker. “He has known me since I was a child, assisting on the sets of (Awara Paagal Deewana; 2002) with Vikram Bhatt (filmmaker). We tried to work together a couple of times, but things never fell into place,” he said.
The director further recalled that Akshay encouraged him even when Shraddha Kapoor-Aditya Roy Kapur’s Aashiqui 2, and Shraddha-Sidharth Malhotra’s Ek Villain did well. “He never lost faith in me. For him to come out there publicly… It’s something very few people do. What else can I ask for?,” he added.

In the same conversation, Mohit opened up about the box office success of Ahaan and Aneet’s first big screen movie. The director mentioned that he feels good to receive this kind of love.
“I have been spending time with my wife (Uditaa Goswami; actor) after the release, she’s been asking me to do household things (laughs). But I take some time for myself daily from 6.30pm to 9pm, as I get calls from all over the country. I’ve told her to just let me feel the love. It’s taken me 20 years to be here,” shared Mohit.
