Musicians Arslan Nizami and Faheem Abdullah rose to fame with the Saiyaara. The duo from Kashmir worked with Tanishk Bagchi on the title track of Mohit Suri’s film.
Starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda in lead roles, Saiyaara is one of the biggest blockbusters of 2025. Now, in an exclusive interview with Zoom, Arslan expressed gratitude to Tanishk. The musician revealed how the music composer has been mentoring him and Faheem.
Arslan Nizami on Tanishk Bagchi as a mentor
Speaking exclusively to us, Arslan said, “Dada has always been supportive. He has always been protecting us. So he’s always been there, he’s always been guiding us, and he’s been telling us what is good for us, what’s bad for us. Because I think when we decided to be in Mumbai, we gave ourselves 14 days to be there. On the 13th day, it was Dada (who) we met.”
The musician added that Tanishk believed in him and Faheem when nobody else did. Similarly, Arslan and Faheem have faith in Tanishk. “He’s always going to be there for us, in simple words. So he’s been guiding us, he’s been teaching us, of course he’s been mentoring us, what is good for us, what’s bad for us. And I’m always grateful and thankful to Dada for whatever he has done for us.”
Kashmir has given me voice: Arslan Nizami
On a concluding note, Arslan mentioned that his and Faheem’s only motive is to make good music. “I think we’ll keep doing that. And being really honest, I think Kashmir has given me my voice, my stories and the strength to dream. Saiyaara was the thing because of which we got connected to people, and it carries the soul of my land. I am grateful to Mohit sir, Dada and YRF for giving us this opportunity.”
