Rishabh Pant was injured on the first day of the Manchester Test between India and England. Chris Vax’s ball hit his right leg and after that he had to quit batting. He was in a lot of pain and both swelling and blood were visible on his leg. Rishabh Pant had to retired on a score of 37 runs. After the first day’s game, Sai Sudarshan gave updates on his injury. He said that Pant has been taken for the scan. Their reports are awaited. Rishabh has suffered injuries in the second consecutive Test. He suffered an injury to his finger in the third Test at Lord’s. Then he could only bat.
Sudarshan was asked about Pant’s injury after the day’s game. He told, ‘He was in a lot of pain. He has gone for a scan and we will know at night. Perhaps tomorrow (24 July) information will be revealed. His injury is a disadvantage for the team. He was batting very well. If he is unable to come again for batting, then we will lack a batsman. There will also be results. But those who are batting right now and some all -rounders are with us. In such a situation, there will be an attempt to score more and more runs.
The same BCCI also gave updates about Pant’s injury. He said, ‘Rishabh Pant suffered a right leg injury during batting on the first day of the Manchester Test. He has been taken from the stadium for a scan. The BCCI medical team is monitoring them.
Pant’s injury was unfortunate for India
India was in a strong position when Pant was hurt. His score had scored 212 runs for three wickets. There was a 72 -run partnership for the fourth wicket between Pant and Sudarshan. Pant was also playing well. He faced two fours and a six while facing 48 balls. After injury to Vax’s ball, he was taken out via stretcher. Shortly after this incident, Sudarshan was dismissed for 61 runs.
