Sai Pallavi has reunited with director Rajkumar Periasamy for Dhanush and Mammootty’s Om – Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood. The actress has thanked the filmmaker for casting her as Addl SP Nithya Reddy, a police officer who takes charge of an investigation into Red Sanders smuggling. The makers unveiled her character through a new glimpse, introducing her background and the operation she is tasked with. The film marks another collaboration between Sai Pallavi and Rajkumar Periasamy following their film Amaran (2024).

has thanked filmmaker for giving her the opportunity to play Addl SP Nithya Reddy in Om – Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood, headlined by Dhanush and Mammootty. The makers recently released a video introducing her character, offering a look at the officer and the investigation that brings her into the story. The actress and Rajkumar Periasamy previously collaborated on (2024), in which Sai Pallavi played Indhu Rebecca Varghese opposite Sivakarthikeyan. The film, based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, received appreciation winning the director a National Award.

In the character glimpse, Nithya Reddy is described as a combination of “honesty, smartness, and experience in a young blood”. The character is the daughter of a martyred Indian Forest Service officer from Naidupet. She thanked Rajkumar Periasamy for choosing to work with her again. In a tweet she called the character her ‘alter ego’ posted “Dear @Rajkumar_KP
sir, Thank you so much for choosing me again and this time play to play Nithya Reddy! I see my alter ego in her” In Om, she is seen investigating the smuggling of Red Sanders as part of an operation titled Om.
Dhanush-Mammootty’s Om To Release In November
Written and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, Om – Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood features Dhanush and Mammootty in lead roles. The cast also includes Sreeleela, Sanjay Swaroop and Naseeruddin Shah, who makes his Tamil debut with the film.
Dhanush is producing the project under his Wunderbar Films banner, alongside Shraddha Agrawal and Azmat Jagmag. RTake Studios is also backing the film. The technical team includes composer Sai Abhyankkar, cinematographer Ezhil Arasu K, editor R Kalaivanan, art director A Pannerselvam and action choreographers Yannick Ben and Kecha Khamphakdee.
