2015: RJD takes over
The atmosphere completely changed in 2015.
- Ramvichar Rai (RJD): 70,583 votes (43.65%)
- Raju Singh (BJP): 59,923 votes (37.06%)
Note: This time the Grand Alliance polarized the votes and gave a clear lead to RJD.
2020: Raju Singh returns on VIP ticket
In 2020, Raju Singh did wonders by contesting the elections from Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP).
- Raju Singh (VIP): 81,203 votes (44.3%)
- Ramvichar Rai (RJD): 65,870 votes (35.9%)
- Margin of victory: 15,333 votes
Note: This victory proved that Raju Singh’s personal hold is still heavy on the voters. Later he returned to BJP.
