Why do period pain and cramps occur?
According to nutritionists, during periods, a hormone called ‘Prostaglandin’ is produced in large quantities in the body. It causes swelling in the uterus and shrinks its muscles. Due to this, severe cramps and pain are felt. But the good thing is that the herbal mixture made from some home spices can reduce this pain to a great extent.
Essential ingredients for herbal drink
All the ingredients are easily available in your kitchen
Celery – 1 tsp
Fennel – 1 tsp
Cinnamon – about 2 inch piece
These three spices improve digestion, reduce inflammation and soothe uterine cramps.
How to make this herbal drink
Lightly crush celery, fennel and cinnamon in musli or mortar. Add this mixture to 400 ml water. Boil the water until it reduces to half. Your herbal drink is ready. This drink warms the body and is very effective in reducing cramps.
How and when to consume
Drink this drink lukewarm every 3-4 hours. If you want, you can make more of it at one go and drink it a little throughout the day. Make sure to lukewarm it before drinking, so that its effect is faster.
