SA vs WI, 2nd T20I: South Africa has shown a glimpse of how it can wreak havoc in the T20 World Cup 2026 in the home T20 series against West Indies. South Africa has captured the 3-match T20 series with an unassailable 2-0 lead. South Africa defeated West Indies by 7 wickets in the second T20. In this victory, he also created a new record of race chase. Quinton de Kock scored the fastest century of his T20 career in South Africa’s record win. The second T20 between South Africa and West Indies was played in Centurion, in which West Indies, batting first, scored 221 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. South Africa got the target of 222 runs, to chase which Quinton de Kock along with captain Aiden Markram came out for South Africa. This pair could not make a big partnership. But Rickleton, who came in after Markram’s dismissal, provided good support to De Kock. De Kock and Rickleton froze and South Africa’s problems started increasing.

Quinton de Kock scored 115 runs in 49 balls with 10 sixes and 6 fours. During this innings played at a strike rate of 234.69, De Kock completed his century in 43 balls. Meaning, this was the fastest of his career. During this innings, De Kock made a partnership of 152 runs with Rickleton for the second wicket.
Rickleton played the biggest innings of his career
Ryan Rickleton also played the biggest innings of his career in the second T20I against West Indies. He remained unbeaten till the end and scored 77 runs in 36 balls at a strike rate of 213.88 which included 9 fours and 3 sixes.
SA full member team fastest to chase score of 220+
The effect of de Kock’s rain from one end and Rickleton’s rain from the other end was that South Africa, among the full member nations of ICC, became the fastest team to chase the score of 220 plus runs in T20 International. In the second T20 played against West Indies in Centurion, he achieved the target of 222 runs by losing 3 wickets in just 17.3 overs.

South Africa had defeated West Indies by 9 wickets in the first T20I and now with a 7-wicket win in the second T20I, it has captured the 3-match T20 series. The third T20 will be played in Johannesburg on 31 January, in which South Africa will enter with the intention of a clean sweep.
