Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russia President Vladimir Putin
While Donald, who called India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi a dear friend, has been constantly threatened to increase the tariff. On the other hand, Russia has come forward in India’s defense. At the same time, America is also giving a befitting reply. Russia said on Tuesday that sovereign countries have every right to choose their partner in business and economic cooperation on the basis of their interests. Russia said this a day after US President Donald Trump’s warning. Trump had warned on Monday that he is going to increase the US fee on India due to buying crude oil from Russia.
Russia came in front
Russia’s government spokesman Dimitri Peskov commented on the warnings of the US regarding India, saying that we believe that sovereign countries should have the right to choose themselves in business partners, business and economic cooperation based on their interests and to determine the methods of trade and economic cooperation independently. President Trump said on Monday that he would increase the US fee on India. He also accused India of buying a huge amount of Russian oil and selling it on huge profits. A few hours after Trump’s statement, India retaliated on the US and the European Union for targeting it in an inappropriate and indiscriminate manner to purchase crude oil from Russia.
EU and US took a dig
India rejected the criticism and said that the US and European Union said to adopt double standards, focusing on the ongoing business relations with Russia. The Ministry of External Affairs said that what India imports from Russia is to maintain the cost of energy for Indian consumers. The statement said that this (import) is a need, which has become a compulsion due to the status of the global market.
However, it is being revealed that the countries criticizing India are in trade with Russia themselves. It said that unlike our case, such business is not even an important national obligation. The Ministry of External Affairs said that Europe-and-Russia trade includes not only energy, but also fertilizers, mining products, chemicals, iron and steel and machinery and transport equipment. The ministry said that as far as America is concerned, it is continuing import of paladium, fertilizer and chemicals from Russia to its nuclear industry, uranium hexaphloride, for its EV industry.
Russia had made these allegations against America
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharovarus on Monday accused the US administration of adopting a neo-liberal policy against the global South countries to maintain Washington’s dominance and expressed his desire to increase cooperation with these countries to create real multilateral and equal world system. Describing the sanctions as a regrettable reality of today’s historic era affecting the whole world, he said that America cannot accept the loss of dominance in the emerging world system. The spokesman said that the US is following the neo-liberal policy to maintain its position and is adopting political tactics of economic pressure against those who refuse to follow it in the international field. Trump had announced a fine of 25 percent customs duty on Indian imports last week as well as a fine on purchasing oil and gas from Russia.
