RSS’s Dattatreya Hosabale urges reinstatement of Manipur government, hails Naxal surrenders in Chhattisgarh

Jabalpur: The Akhil Bharatiya Karyakari Mandal meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) was held in Jabalpur from October 30 to November 1, 2025. RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale addressed the media on Saturday, highlighting the organisation’s stance on several national and social issues, including Manipur, Naxalism, drug abuse and religious conversions.

Speaking about the situation in Manipur, Hosabale said that peace and stability are gradually returning to the state. “The Prime Minister has visited Manipur. The people there wish for the restoration of their elected government and the RSS also supports this. We are hopeful that the government will assess the situation and take a decision soon,” he said.

Turning his attention to Chhattisgarh, Hosabale praised the surrender of several Naxalites who have chosen to rejoin mainstream society. “The RSS welcomes their decision and society should too. This step paves the way for a new beginning and reintegration into community life,” he stated.

Hosabale also raised concern about the growing drug menace among youth, calling it a serious social challenge. “Drug addiction has spread like a disease among young people, especially in schools and colleges. While the government will do its part, families and society must come forward. The RSS will work to protect youth from this growing threat in the coming days,” he said.

Addressing the issue of religious conversions, Hosabale acknowledged the active role played by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and saints in preventing conversions and said the RSS works alongside them in these efforts.

He also pointed to increasing instances of conversion within the Sikh community, particularly in Punjab, stressing that greater awareness and participation are needed. “There is awareness on this issue, but it needs to be strengthened. Locals should work actively to prevent conversions and bring back those who have converted,” he added.
