Rs 1121.41 crore sanctioned for international cricket stadium at Rajgir

New Delhi: The Bihar cabinet on Tuesday gave its approval for setting up a Rs 36.01 crore factory to manufacture lead acid battery and plates at Purnea. The factory would be set up by M/s Mizuki Power Products Pvt Ltd, Purnea, Cabinet Secretariat Department’s Additional Chief Secretary S Siddharth told reporters here at a post-cabinet briefing.

The investment would generate employment for 200 skilled and unskilled people of the state. The factory would produce 8.40 lakh battery plates per annum and 6 lakh batteries per annum.

The cabinet also gave its approval for creation of six posts for the recently constituted “Bihar Yuva Aayog” (Bihar Youth Commission). It will have six posts of Secretary, Section Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Stenographers among others. Rs 1121.41 crore sanctioned international cricket stadium at Rajgir. It also sanctioned Rs 1121.41 crore for carrying out civil and electrification work of State Sports Academy-cum-International Cricket Stadium at Rajgir (Nalanda).

Water Supply scheme for Supaul & Kaimur

It approved Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) two proposals for water supply scheme for Supaul district and Kaimur district. A 27 MLD and 4 MLD capacity mutli-village water supply scheme worth Rs 320.01 crore will be carried out for supply of water 318 wards of 63 villages of 23 panchayats under Chhatapur block of Supaul district. Decreasing groundwater level and iron affected these villages will get supply water.

Similarly, another 7.85 MLD water supply scheme worth Rs 293.94 crore sanctioned for water supply in 41 wards of seven panchayats in Adhaura block of Kaimur.

Land transferred for construction of Kendriya Vidyalaya

It also gave its nod for transfer of 4.63 acres of land at Domahata in Gopalganj and 5 acres of land at Godhaila in Darbhanga district to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for construction of Kendriya Vidyalaya and its staff quarters at a token amount of Rs 1 for 30 years of lease period.

Other Key Decisions

It also gave an administrative approval of Rs 675.50 crore for construction of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Path Chakra on Nehru Path (Bailey road) in Patna town, ACS said adding that it would make the travel smooth and safe on Nehru Path.

The revised estimate of Rs 696.26 crore got its approval from the cabinet for the construction of a flyover from Gandhi chowk to Nagarpalika chowk in Chhapra town under the Central Road Fund.

It also gave its administrative approval to the second revised estimate of Rs 1368.46 crore for construction of two lane road towards the Patna end of the Digha rail-cum-road bridge and a lane elevated lane for providing additional connectivity from Ashok Rajpath. It would ensure smooth ride for people taking the JP Ganga Path and going to AIIMS, Patna.

Acting on a health department’s proposal, a total of seven medical officers have been dismissed from the service for being unauthorised absent from duty for several years.

The cabinet took altogether 41 decisions during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
