RPO Patna hosts ‘Whispers of Imagination’ contemporary art exhibition

Indian Council for Cultural Relations’ Regional Passport Office, Patna, under Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announces its second series of Display of Art Work in Passport Seva Kendra, Patna, under MEA’s Regional Passport Office, Patna. The Exhibition of Contemporary Art has been themed ‘Whispers of Imagination: Showcasing Diverse Voices in Contemporary Art’, exhibiting paintings of 15 artists who are accomplished painters of Bihar. This exhibition was preceeded by a 4-week exhibition of folk paintings of Bihar titled ‘ Saha-Loka’.

The exhibition will be inaugurated on 25 August 2025 at 5 pm in PSK, Patliputra, Patna and will be on display till 25 September 2025. “Around 1500 applicants who visit the PSK everyday would get a unique experience of the world of art, often restricted to art galleries, in a government office delivering passport services. It is a modest endeavour to bring art work from the vitrines and high classes to public spaces and to the common people—thus fomenting interest and appreciation towards art among the people of Bihar”, said Regional Passport Officer, a senior Indian Foreign Service Officer, Smt. Swadha Rizvi. While the exhibition is largely dedicated to passport applicants, visits on requests can be facilitated by reaching out to Exhibition Coordinator Sh. Manish (Mob: 8709417080) or email at [email protected] a day in advance.

The show brings together a wide range of perspectives, media, and themes, reflecting the richness of contemporary artistic practice today. From painting and sculpture, ‘Whispers of Imagination’ explores questions of identity, memory, and connection in a rapidly changing world. Each artist contributes a unique vision, yet together their works form a vibrant dialogue that invites audiences to reflect, engage, and imagine new possibilities. This exhibition highlights the power of collective creativity. By presenting diverse practices side by side, we aim to spark conversation and deepen appreciation for artwork which resonates with our lives in so many ways.
