Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 launched at Rs 2.79 lakh; comes with BaaS option

New Delhi: Following the unveiling of the entire specifications about the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6, the brand has revealed the pricing of its first-ever electric bike. Customers have the option of buying the C6 via Battery as a Service (BaaS), which brings their asking price down to Rs 1.99 lakh, and buying it outright would cost Rs 2.79 lakh (both ex-showroom).

The C6 comes with a 3.91 kWh battery pack with a claimed IDC range of 154 km. The battery sends power to a permanent magnet synchronous motor capable of making 15.4kW and 60 Nm of torque at peak. Both the motor housing and battery casing are encapsulated in a single piece, and the battery’s fins are finished in magnesium.

The motor sends power to the back wheel through a belt drive, with Flying Flea doing a claimed 0-60 kph in 3.7 seconds. The C6 maximum speed stands at 115 kph (claimed).

Flying Flea is claimed to have a 0-100 per cent charging time of 2 hours and 16 minutes and can do a 20-80 per cent top-up in just 1 hour and 5 minutes. The customer can also opt to decide at what speed the C6 charges when they are plugged in, through the mobile app, amongst loads of other things.

Royal Enfield has quite consciously made the Flying Flea C6 a light and slim bike, as the rolling resistance and lighter weight to haul around would make for a longer range between charging. There are slim 90-section tyres slapped onto the big 19-inch rims at both ends, and the entire package weighs about 124 kg. Seat height stands at 823 mm, but since the C6 is quite slim nature, flat footing for most people won’t be a big issue. The ground clearance stands at 207 mm.

Other features include a round 3.5-inch colour TFT with new dedicated switchgear, which displays all the information to the rider, and the suite of riding aids includes adjustable regenerative braking,  5 riding modes, which are City, Rain, Highway, Sport and Custom, as well as lean-sensitive traction control and dual-channel ABS, which can be switched off at the back.
