Officials have traced certain anonymous cash transactions and have formed special teams to investigate the matter further. Reports suggest that the overseas deposits and withdrawals may be connected to the alleged Agra module. For the unversed,

According to reports by News18, Mumbai Police have uncovered that the deposits and withdrawals made by the accused are linked to Nepal, pointing to an alleged international funding connection behind the Agra module. The accused, including Deepak Chandra Sharma, Sonu Thakur, Hrithik Yadav, Vinshu Kushwaha, Jatin Bhardwaj and Vishal Thakur, are reportedly from Agra, Etawah and parts of Haryana, were allegedly paid Rs 50,000 upfront and assured a larger sum after carrying out the attack.

Earlier reports had also suggested that the accused were allegedly recruited through social media outreach and local networks, purportedly by members of the Shubham Lonkar gang.

For the unversed, Rohit Shetty’s residence in Juhu was targeted in a firing incident on January 31, during which four gunshots were reportedly fired. Police investigations later suggested links to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Authorities subsequently arrested a total of 11 individuals, including six who were nabbed from Rajasthan on February 16.

Meanwhile, some other Bollywood celebrities have also received threats in the past few days. Ranveer Singh also got a voice note on WhatsApp demanding Rs 10 crore ransom. This was followed by Salman Khan’s brother-in-law and actor Ayush Sharma, who also received a threat email via Proton Mail from a sender allegedly having links with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
