Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill Undergo Mandatory Yo-Yo Test. Did They Clear It?

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were among the Indian players who underwent the mandatory yo-yo test at the BCCI Centre of Excellence last week.

Rohit, the India ODI captain, is now only active in one format and is still more than a month away from making his on-field return. Shubaman, who leads the Test team, will assist Suryakumar Yadav in the 2025 Asia Cup, scheduled to kick off on September 9. He is a regular in all three formats.

PTI has reported that both Rohit and Shubman cleared the yo-yo test. Apart from them, Jasprit Bumrah and Jitesh Sharma also cleared the test. Bumrah will lead India’s pace attack in the Asia Cup, while Jitesh is likely to make his return to the playing XI.

The report adds that Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur and Washington Sundar cleared the test without any alarm. Jaiswal and Sundar are part of the standby list. They will only travel to UAE if India need a replacement player.

India’s Asia Cup schedule

India will kick off their 2025 Asia Cup campaign against UAE on September 10. They will take on Pakistan in their second game on September 14. India will square off against Oman on September 19. India and Pakistan could lock horns thrice if the result go in their favour. The final of the continental tournament will be played on September 28.

When will Virat Kohli undergo yo-yo test?

Virat Kohli didn’t undergo the yo-yo test last week. He now lives in London. Since it is mandatory for the players to clear the test, Virat will have to appear for it before the team selection for the ODI series against Australia.

He hasn’t played international cricket since the 2025 Champions Trophy final, which took place in March. He could be seen in action in the unofficial one-day series against Australia A.
