Robot Echo Delhi: While many luxury hotels have made special arrangements for VIP guests during the ongoing India AI Impact Summit 2026 in Delhi, one hotel has done something different and special. New Delhi’s famous 5-star hotel Shangri-La Eros New Delhi has deployed a humanoid robot to welcome guests. The special thing is that this robot is wearing a saree and welcomes the guests by saying ‘Namaste’, answers questions and also shows the way inside the hotel. Know the specialty of this robot.
Special preparations to welcome Delhi AI Summit guests near Bharat Mandapam
The hotel is a short distance away from Bharat Mandapam, the main venue of the summit. In such a situation, there is a huge movement of big leaders, tech experts and guests from India and abroad. Along with its staff, the hotel has also deployed an AI-powered robot in the lobby, so that the guests can be welcomed in a different way.
Who is the robot welcoming guests wearing a saree?
The name of this robot is Echo. Echo is a humanoid robot that looks like humans. There is an LED screen on its face, which shows expressions. It answers guests’ questions. Helps in finding the right direction inside the hotel. It has ultrasonic sensors, due to which it moves safely. The most special thing about this robot is that Echo is wearing a saree like the hotel staff, due to which she blends completely into the Indian environment. According to Hindustantimes report, the hotel’s General Manager Abhishek Sadhu said that it is a matter of pride for him to be a part of a big international event like AI Impact Summit. He said that Echo makes the guest experience more special. She responds by recognizing voices and works safely in the lobby. According to him, this use of technology shows the hotel’s innovation and future-ready thinking.
What is India AI Impact Summit?
India AI Impact Summit 2026 is a big international AI conference, which is taking place in New Delhi. This is a 5 day program, which started from 16th February. This summit has been organized by IndiaAI Mission and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of the Government of India.
