New Delhi: Roblox players woke up to a frustrating surprise, and honestly it felt like a déjà vu moment for many gamers. The popular online platform went down for thousands of users, leading to login failures, website loading problems and plenty of confused posts on social media.
On Friday, reports started piling up and it became clear that this was not a small glitch. The problems were first spotted late evening in the United States and continued into Friday, affecting gameplay for a huge number of users who simply could not get in or keep their sessions stable.

Roblox outage hits thousands of users across regions
According to outage tracking site Downdetector, more than 29,000 users in the United States reported issues around 10:21 AM IST (which corresponds to 9:51 PM EST in brackets IST). A large share of these complaints were linked to website access with the data showing that around 63 percent users faced website issues. About 27 percent reported server connection problems and nearly 10 percent struggled during gameplay with crashes and lag affecting their experience.
Roblox also posted an update on its official status page saying, “We are investigating an issue preventing users from accessing the website.” Credits for this information go to the official Roblox status page and Downdetector insights. Cities like Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York appeared among the most impacted locations, highlighting how widespread the disruption really was across the U.S.
For a platform that allows millions of players to create and play games, even a short outage hits hard. I remember once when Roblox crashed during a weekend event, and the number of disappointed posts was unbelievable. This time felt similar. Parents, creators and young gamers were all trying to refresh pages, hoping it would come back fast.

What players experienced during the disruption
Many gamers reported being stuck at login screens, while others were able to enter but faced loading failures. Game sessions were reportedly dropping midway in some cases and certain users found the platform completely unresponsive. Social media was full of players asking the same question in different ways. Is Roblox down, and when will it come back?
Roblox has not officially confirmed the root cause yet. It remains unclear whether server overload, technical glitches or maintenance triggered the issue.
