Roadmap of Delhi’s new industrial policy is ready, general public can suggest by July 30

The Delhi government has drafted the new industrial policy 2025-35, which aims to set up Delhi as a global trade center. Under this policy, suggestions have been sought from public and traders till 30 July. The draft is available on the website of the Department of Industries.

The main objective of this policy is to make Delhi a global center in emerging areas like banking, gaming, animation and Artificial Intelligence (AI). This policy will promote pollution-free and future-ready industries, as well as ensuring balanced land and balanced use of environment. Delhi will be made attractive for investment by using skilled manpower and resources.

Financial assistance and encouragement

Many concessions will be given to encourage investors. The first five years include a return of 50% on capital investment, a maximum of Rs 50 crore, a venture capital fund of Rs 400 crore, 6% interest subsidy, and 100% withdrawal of state GST. Apart from this, 50% discount will be given in the cost of up to Rs 5 lakh on patent filing and transmission and wheeling fee on power purchase.

Research and Debill

In the new policy, partnerships will be made with schools and research institutes to promote research and development. For this, an R&D portal and financial assistance of up to Rs 10 lakh will be available. For the convenience of investors, ‘Investor Facilitation Center’ will be set up, which will ensure quick approval and coordination between all departments. Also, guidance and assistance will be provided from business experts.

Infrastructure and skill development

IT parks on PPP models will be developed in Baprola, Ranikheda and Kanjhawala. Cheap industrial zones will be built outside Central Delhi. Government training centers for AI based training system and gig workers will be set up, which will provide certification in logistics, hospitality, security and construction areas.

Mice Tourism Promotion

Mice means meetings, incentives, conferencing and exhibitions. All this will better use Pragati Maidan, World Trade Center and Indira Gandhi Stadium to promote tourism. Restaurant rules will be exempted with an increase in hotels and workers housing. The Mice structure will be strengthened with the cooperation of banks. The Delhi government has called upon the people and businessmen to further improve the policy by seeking suggestions till July 30.
