Patna: In view of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has finally released its biggest and much-awaited list. The party has announced the names of its candidates for 143 seats out of 243. The list includes glamorous faces like Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav, members from Bahubali background, seasoned veterans, and educated faces from administrative services, reflecting the party’s strategy of courting the ‘MY’ (Muslim-Yadav) equation as well as other sections.
Bet on superstars and high-profile seats
The party has played a big bet on some seats, which has heated up the election atmosphere.
- Chhapra (118): Bhojpuri singer and actor Shatrughan Kumar alias Khesari Lal has been given the ticket. Seeing his popularity, this seat has now become the hottest seat.
- Mokama (178): Veena Devi has been made the candidate from this Bahubali constituency.
- Raghunathpur (108): Osama Shahab has got the ticket from the family of former MP Shahabuddin, which gives a big message in the politics of Siwan.
- Danapur (186): Patna’s famous leader Rittal Rai (Yadav) has been fielded.
- Sikandra (240): The party has once again expressed confidence in senior leader Uday Narayan Chaudhary.
In the administrative and educated professional field
This time RJD has given opportunity to many such faces who come from administrative or academic background other than politics.
- Mahishi (77): By giving ticket to Gautam Krishna, who has been a BDO (Block Development Officer), the party has fielded a candidate with an educated and clean image.
- Narmali (41): Administrative officers like Baijnath Mehta (retired IRS) have been given a chance.
