India Flood Warning Pakistan: Amid heavy rains in northern India, India has issued a flood warning to Pakistan. This warning has been issued on humanitarian grounds, although information about regular water sharing is not being shared.

Delhi: India has warned Pakistan of flood due to continuous heavy rains in North India. It has been reported that the water level in Ravi, Chenab and Sutlej rivers can increase a lot and water may have to be released by opening the gates of the dams. Pakistan has been warned through the Indian High Commission in Islamabad so that it can avoid major damage by taking necessary steps.

A red alert has been issued for the Tawi River due to continuous rains throughout North India. The Tavi river leaves the Himalayas and flows through Jammu to the Chenab river in Pakistan. According to PTI, India has warned Pakistan several times in view of this situation. It is reported that gates of major dams built on these rivers can be opened. Under the Indus Water Agreement, India has currently stopped sharing information about water sharing with Pakistan regularly. However, on humanitarian grounds, the Union Ministry of External Affairs has now issued this warning.

On April 22, Pakistan-based terrorist organizations were attacked in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, killing 26 people, including tourists. Subsequently, India attacked terrorist bases in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor. Earlier, India had also announced the cancellation of the Indus Water Agreement. Later, information about water sharing was stopped under pressure on Pakistan to take a tough stance against terrorism. After this, many areas of Pakistan have been flooded many times. But, now India has again issued a warning in view of heavy rains in North India.
