Riddhima on celebrating Bhaidooj with Ranbir

Speaking to ETimes, Riddhima shared how the festival of Bhaidooj which celebrates the eternal bond between a brother and sister – has become even more emotional since their father Rishi Kapoor’s demise in April 2020. “The first Bhaidooj after dad passed away was especially emotional. It felt like something was missing, but at the same time, it grounded us. We knew he’d be smiling down on us, proud that we were keeping our family traditions alive,” she said.

In the Kapoor household, Bhaidooj is celebrated simply yet lovingly. Riddhima describes it as a “beautiful mix of tradition and togetherness,” starting with the traditional tika and aarti, followed by family prayers and a warm lunch.

“Mom always said, ‘Festivals are about connection.’ Even if we weren’t in the same city, she’d make sure we called or sent love across,” Riddhima recalled.

On the work front, Riddhima will next be seen in a film also starring her mother, Neetu Kapoor, and comedian Kapil Sharma. As for Ranbir, he has Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War in his kitty, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. He also has Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, where he will be seen playing Lord Rama.
