Rich Paul Jokes He Is the “Best Singer in the House” With Adele in Rare Romance Interview

Rich Paul gave a rare public look at his relationship with Adele and opened with the kind of joke that only works when the other person in the house is one of the most famous singers alive.

The Klutch Sports Group founder appeared on Glass Half Full with Craig Melvin, where he was asked whether he likes to sing. “I’m the best singer in the house,” Paul said, according to  .

Paul, 45, also said he was not a deep Adele listener before their relationship. He knew the “monster hits,” but his own favorites leaned older: Lionel Richie, Marvin Gaye, Anita Baker, and Teddy Pendergrass.

The interview moved from that joke into the couple’s history. Paul said he and Adele knew each other through shared circles before the relationship became romantic, and he described the shift as something that happened naturally rather than through a planned pursuit.

Paul told Melvin he likes music, but he made clear that his taste did not begin with studying Adele’s catalog. He said he knew her biggest songs before they became close, then learned more about her music later.

One song did become personal for him. Paul singled out “Hold On,” from Adele’s 2021 album 30, and connected it to his late mother, Minerva Martin.  reported that he discussed the song while speaking about his mother’s struggles and the emotion he hears in the track.

The Relationship Started Through Shared Friends

Paul said he met Adele through a friend and had known her casually before they started dating. He described their early dynamic as friendly, with the two seeing each other in social settings, laughing, joking, and keeping things cordial.

He told Melvin that he did not want to make familiar social circles awkward by being too forward. The relationship changed when he became, in his words, “a person of interest,” according to E! News.

Adele and Paul were first publicly linked in 2021 after they were seen courtside at an NBA Finals game. Adele later spoke about the relationship during her One Night Only interview with Oprah Winfrey, calling Paul hilarious and smart and describing the romance as easy.

Adele Later Shared Their Relationship on Instagram

Adele has kept much of the relationship private, but she has let some moments appear on her own terms. In May 2022, she shared an Instagram carousel captioned “Time flies,” with photos that included Paul, according to the visible Instagram post.

The couple’s public appearances have usually stayed tied to major events, basketball games, and Adele’s own career moments rather than constant relationship updates. Page Six reported that Adele confirmed their engagement during a Munich concert in August 2024 after a fan jokingly proposed to her from the crowd.
