RG Kar Case Update: The parents of the RG Kar rape and murder victim are not satisfied with the handling of the case even after a year of the notorious case that shook the nation. The father of the victim, after meeting Central Bureau Investigation (CBI) Director Praveen Sood, expressed his dissatisfaction by stating that the probe agency had no answer to their questions. He further claimed that the central probe agency, just like Kolkata police, was trying to cover up the case. Apart from this, the Kolkata police beefed up security at the key locations of the city, as a march has been announced to the state secretariat ‘Nabanna’ to mark the completion of one year of the rape and murder.
CBI is trying to cover up the case: Victim’s father
Earlier while providing details, the father of the deceased alleged that the CBI director did not provide answers to his several important questions, adding that the central probe agency has been trying to cover up the case.
“Then he came back and said three times that he will give us the supplementary chargesheet to assure us… Just like the Calcutta police tried to cover up this case, the CBI is also trying to cover it up,” he added.
Security hightened by Kolkata police
Apart from this, the Trinamool Congress accused the BJP leaders of politicising the matter by claiming that residents of several districts have been called to participate in the protest.

“The security plan includes multi-layered barricades in the Santragachi area, where protesters are expected to arrive by trains from Purba and Paschim Medinipur and Howrah districts. The police have installed over 10ft-high iron barricades, backed by a three-tier security cordon,” a TMC spokesperson was quoted as saying by PTI.
