New Delhi: Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is set to join FC Barcelona on a 12-month loan with the Catalan having the option to buy him permanently in 2026. The club have reportedly got to know how much it will cost them if they want his services.
Aston Villa had the chance to sign him permanently for £40 million at the end of his loan spell with the club last season. However, according to BBC Sport journalist Simon Stone, Barcelona now have the opportunity to buy him for a reduced fee of £30 million, making the deal more affordable for the Spanish giants.
Marcus Rashford option price is €35m. Barca still have registration issues but he can train and play non competitive games until that is resolved. Team leave for Japan on Thursday. Rashford expected to be involved.

Rashford has been holding out his move to Camp Nou as he has clearly told his priority early on. His transfer to Barca will be a bit complicated due to registration issues, which the Blaugrana are facing since last season. Meanwhile, United wants to remove his high salary from their expenses, but the transfer fee they hoped to get is now dropping as time goes on.
Marcus Rashford is under contract with Manchester United until 2028, securing his long-term future with the club. During his loan spell at Villa Park last season, he made a notable impact, scoring four goals and providing six assists in 17 appearances for Aston Villa. Over the years with his boyhood club, Rashford has established himself as a key player, recording an impressive 138 goals and 79 assists across 426 matches in all competitions, underlining his consistent contributions to United’s attack.
What next?
The 27-year-old, who has expressed a strong desire to play under Hansi Flick at Barcelona, is reportedly preparing to accept a pay cut to make the move possible for the upcoming season. He is determined to join the Spanish giants and take on a new challenge in La Liga.
