Revanth Reddy Urges Centre To Grant Immediate Approval For Hyderabad Metro Phase-II

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has requested the Union government to swiftly approve the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project, claiming it is essential to address the city’s growing transportation requirements.

He has also approached the Centre for its assistance in the project to keep it going without any delay.

CM Pushes For Immediate Clearance Of Metro Phase-II

The Chief Minister in separate letters has requested the Union Ministers, Manohar Lal Khattar and G. Kishan Reddy, to give permission for Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II at a “prompt” time. He added that the development of the metro network has been gaining significance with Hyderabad seeing the rapid urbanisation and increasing demand for efficient public transport system.

The Chief Minister stated that the proposed enlargement will aid in the connectivity of city and lessen the congestion problems that have been affecting the city’s roads.

Centre Asked To Accelerate Phase-I Takeover

Revanth Reddy also sought Union government’s approval for the new phase and asked for its acceleration in the takeover of Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-I. He emphasized that the decision should be made timely to accelerate the development of the project in the future and enhance its operation efficiency.

The Chief Minister said faster action from the Centre would provide greater momentum to Hyderabad’s long-term urban transport plans.

Appeal For Loan Refinancing To Support Expansion

Revanth Reddy also appealed to the Central government to refinancing of existing loans pertaining to Hyderabad Metro Rail. He said the financial restructuring would make the project much more viable and it would help to implement Phase-II on time.

The state will be able to proceed with the next phase of metro expansion without delay, if the Chief Minister’s assertion is correct, as it will require quicker approvals and financial support.

Metro Expansion Seen As Key To Hyderabad’s Growth

The Telangana government is confident that the expansion of the Hyderabad Metro network is necessary to address the demands of the growing population and enhance the city’s transportation infrastructure. The proposed Phase-II project is expected to significantly contribute to improving public transport infrastructure and connectivity in the city, as traffic volumes have been on the rise in several parts of the city.
