Hyderabad: After reports surfaced that government offices in rented buildings were being moved to T-Hub, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has issued orders to scrap the plans, tv9 telugu reported.
CM Revanth Reddy reportedly called Chief Secretary K Rama Krishna Rao amid his tour to the United States, and instructed that any plans to move government offices to t-hub should be abandoned immediately.
The CM further clarified that T-Hub should be recognised as an incubator and an innovation catalyst and should continue to function solely as a startup hub. He also ordered that government offices currently operating in rented buildings should be shifted to other government buildings.
The flagship startup incubator was established to spur innovation, collaboration during BRS tenure by then IT Minister KT Rama Rao and former CM KCR.
Criticism from industry leaders:
The move to establish government offices drew sharp criticism from startup founders, industry leaders and the community, who said that it would be short sighted and would disrupt Telangana’s startup ecosystem.
