Renault Kwid EV Launched As Kwid E-Tech In This Country – 265km Range, ADAS

Renault has officially unveiled the all-electric Kwid EV in Brazil, naming it the Kwid E-Tech. The Renault Kwid EV features a redesigned exterior, a 26.8 kWh battery, modern cabin technology, and a full suite of safety and driver-assist systems for the entry-level EV segment.

The Renault Kwid E-Tech has a closed front grille with an integrated charging port, C-shaped LED DRLs, and projector headlamps. Silver highlights and a redesigned lower intake complete the front-end styling, while the bumper incorporates subtle aerodynamic elements.

From the side, the Kwid E-Tech retains its compact silhouette but adds black wheel arch claddings and dual-tone 14-inch alloy wheels. The mirrors house integrated indicators, and the E-Tech and E-Kwid badges on the rear clearly identify the car as an electric model.

The cabin receives a 7-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The console houses an integrated e-shifter, dual USB-C ports, and a height-adjustable steering wheel.

Interior styling includes tri-wing AC vent inserts and contrast dashboard accents. Renault claims a boot space of 290 litres. Seating layout, switchgear, and cabin ergonomics remain largely consistent with the ICE Kwid while integrating electric-specific components.

The Renault Kwid E-Tech is powered by a 26.8 kWh lithium-ion battery coupled with a 48 kW electric motor (65hp). Acceleration is rated at 0-50 km/h in 4.1 seconds and 0-100 km/h in 14.6 seconds and the top speed is 130km/h. The range is 265km in mixed cycle and 298km in urban trips (as per Brazilian standards).

Charging options include a 30 kW DC fast charger that takes the battery from 15 % to 80 % in 40 minutes. Using a 7.4 kW AC wall box, the battery reaches the same charge level in 2 hours 54 minutes. Both modes support regenerative braking.

Safety equipment includes Level 1 ADAS with 11 driver-assist functions, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill start assist, ISOFIX mounts, a rear-view camera, TPMS, and automatic door locking above 6 km/h.

In Brazil, the Kwid E-Tech starts at BRL 99,990 (around ₹16 lakh). Renault plans to adapt the model for India with localized components and competitive pricing for the small-EV segment.

The India-spec Kwid EV is currently under testing and may launch by mid-2027. It is expected to share components with the Dacia Spring EV, offering around 305 km of claimed range and a motor output close to 65 bhp and 125 Nm. Expected pricing for the Indian market is between ₹8 lakh and ₹11 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it alongside competitors such as the Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV.
