Renault Boreal Showcased: The SUV Which Could Finally Turn Tables For Renault In India

Renault has been struggling to keep up in the Indian market but hey have now come up with the Boreal. The Boreal is based on the Bigster SUV but it is prettier and more premium. We are sure that this will be loved by the Indian and can actually give the competition a run for their money if Renault actually brings it back.

The Boreal is based on the Bigster but undergoes a significant amount of plastic surgery. It looks premium and has a front with chiseled lights and a body coloured grille. It looks like a more rounded crossover when compared to the Bigster which is more rugged in its form. The Bigster has smooth flowing lines at the rear and we are glad for the plane looking rear facade which doesn’t include tube-light looking lightbar.

The interior is also very premium featuring a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10-inch infotainment screen. Some other features include 48-colour ambient lighting, ADAS Level-2, which also includes hands-free parking, powered front seats, LED lights, wireless charging and a 10-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system.

In terms of the engine, it gets a 1.3L turbocharged petrol engine which produces 154 bhp and is paired to a dual clutch transmission. If it comes to India, we could see different powertrain options. It will first be launched in Brazil and will later be rolled out in other global markets.
