The Centre’s letter further said, "Such behavior reflects a serious failure of platform-level security and enforcement systems. There is also gross misuse of Artificial Intelligence technology in violation of applicable laws."
The IT Ministry has expressed concern that xAI’s Grok and other services have been used to create and distribute obscene or non-consensual images. Especially in this case, the dignity and privacy of women has been targeted. Through this letter, the government has demanded immediate removal of illegal content.
The government has also asked X to implement necessary AI guardrails and submit a detailed action taken report within 72 hours. The Ministry has clearly said that if the instructions are not followed, strict legal action will be taken against the users who break the law on your platform without any further notice.
