Market cap of top 10 companies
Last week, the Indian stock market continued to decline, due to which the market cap of 6 of the top 10 most valuable companies decreased by more than Rs 1.36 lakh crore. The biggest loss was to Reliance Industries. The BSE Sensex closed down the sixth consecutive week. Last week, the Sensex came down 742.12 points i.e. 0.92%, while the Nifty had dropped 202.05 points i.e. 0.82%.
The decline declined the market value of big companies like Reliance Industries, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys and Hindustan Unilever, however, Tata Consultancy Services, State Bank of India, Life Insurance Corporation of India and Bajaj Finance benefited. Reliance Industries suffered the maximum loss, whose market cap declined by Rs 34,710.8 crore to Rs 18,51,174.59 crore. HDFC Bank’s market cap has reduced by Rs 29,722.04 crore to Rs 15,14,303.58 crore.
ICICI Bank and Infosys also decreased valuations
At the same time, the market cap of ICICI Bank fell by Rs 24,719.45 crore to Rs 10,25,495.69 crore and Infosys fell by Rs 19,504.31 crore to Rs 5,91,423.02 crore. Bharti Airtel’s market cap decreased by Rs 15,053.55 crore to Rs 10,59,850.32 crore and Hindustan Unilever declined by Rs 12,441.09 crore to Rs 5,87,021.88 crore.
Market cap of these companies increased
On the other hand, LIC’s market cap increased by Rs 17,678.37 crore to Rs 5,77,187.67 crore. TCS valuation increased by Rs 11,360.8 crore to Rs 10,97,908.66 crore, SBI’s 9,784.46 crore increased to Rs 7,42,649.34 crore and Bajaj Finance increased by Rs 186.43 crore to Rs 5,45,148.52 crore. According to the market cap, Reliance Industries remained number-1 company. After this HDFC Bank, TCS, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, SBI, Infosys, Hindustan Unilever, LIC and Bajaj were finance companies.
