Gujarat took a big step towards smart, faster and citizen-centric digital governance by launching the Unified Digital Stack and AI Stack. The Regional AI Impact Conference focused on MoUs, AI usage, cloud guidelines and preparations for the 2026 AI Summit.
Gandhinagar. While operationalizing the state-wide Gujarat Unified Digital Stack, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that this will make digital governance smarter, faster and citizen-centric. According to him, citizens will get all the services easily from a single platform. Also, real-time analysis of schemes can be done through fast data sharing between departments.
Regional AI Impact Conference launched
The Chief Minister inaugurated the Regional AI Impact Conference organized at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar. He inaugurated the AI Experience Zone and also inspected the startup stalls. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghvi and Science and Technology Minister Shri Arjun Modhwadia were also present in this program.
Organized as a pre-event to AI Impact Summit 2026
This conference has been jointly organized by the Ministry of Information Technology of the Center and the Department of Science and Technology of the State Government. This event is a pre-event of the AI Impact Summit to be held under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in February 2026.
Launch of Gujarat AI Stack
At the event, the Chief Minister launched Gujarat AI Stack. Through this stack, ‘plug-and-play’ AI can be easily adopted in government departments. 6 major AI tools included in it-

This will make governance more fast, accurate and people-friendly.
Gujarat Cloud Adoption Guidelines 2025 launched
Gujarat Cloud Adoption Guidelines 2025 were also launched at the event. These guidelines will make digital governance secure, scalable and AI-ready and ease the use of MeitY-empaneled compute.
Signing of two important MoUs
Two important agreements were reached in the conference-
- Gujarat Government-Google-Bhasini MoU: Collaboration in multilingual AI, Gujarati language model and digital public services.
- Gujarat Government-GIFT City-Henox MoU: Cable Landing Stations (CLS) will be set up in the state, making Gujarat a hub of global digital connectivity and promoting green data centres.
AI: Mission for National Progress
The Chief Minister said that due to the leadership ability of the Prime Minister, AI has become not just a technology but a mission for the progress of the nation. He said that Gujarat has always been at the forefront of technology-driven development and AI resources will play an important role in public welfare and future-ready governance.
India changed with technology
Shri Patel said that technology has brought big changes in the country in the last decade. Technology has reached even the smallest person and India AI Mission has started. Gujarat has also moved forward in the same direction and formed an AI Task Force.
AI will strengthen future capabilities
He expressed hope that the collective discussion held in this conference will give new direction to the current work efficiency and future technical needs through the use of AI.

Gujarat: The state that created the AI revolution
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Harsh Sanghvi said that Gujarat is becoming the hub of AI revolution and welcomes investors and startups. He said that the goal of Gujarat is not Human vs Machine, but Human with Machine, where AI gives new dimensions to human imagination.
Diverse uses of AI in the state He informed that-
- The AI Center of Excellence established in collaboration with Microsoft at GIFT City is shaping the tech ecosystem of the future.
- In the agriculture sector, Fasal AI platform is helping farmers save water and reduce pesticide usage.
- More than 1 lakh farmers are getting AI based advice on crop health, soil condition and water availability.
- The SIMBA project is protecting and monitoring wildlife.
- AI is increasing service efficiency in GSRTC.
Effective use of AI by Gujarat Police
- 5,481 missing children were reunited through AI surveillance in Ahmedabad Rath Yatra.
- An AI-based operation was conducted on illegal ganja cultivation in Dahod district, in which ganja worth more than Rs 1.19 crore was seized through drones.
- AI surveillance in Ambaji fair made crowd management and search of missing people easier.

Statement by Science and Technology Minister Shri Arjun Modhwadia
AI a powerful tool for good governance
He said that today AI has become the most effective tool in good governance. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, AI has increased data storage, transparency and speed of work, thereby providing services to citizens faster. He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, India is achieving new heights in AI technology. He expressed confidence that this conference will start a new revolution in the AI field.
Role of AI at national level
MeitY Additional Secretary and NIC Director General Shri Abhishek Singh said that Global AI Summit will be organized in India in February 2026. This will be the first time that a developing country will host such a summit. He said that Gujarat has always been a leader in the implementation of new technology and will become a role model for the country in AI also.

Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, Mrs. P. Bharti said that five major topics will be discussed in the conference-

Besides, important suggestions will also be prepared for the AI Impact Summit of 2026. At the end of the program, Mr. Arvind Vijayan, Managing Director of Gujarat Informatics Limited expressed his gratitude.
