Record breaking investment on AI! Adani, Ambani to Google opened their coffers, will pour in Rs 22 lakh crores

During the recently held ‘India AI Impact Summit 2026’, top investors including Reliance Industries, Adani Group, Google, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Tata Group have jointly committed to invest 240 billion US dollars i.e. about Rs 22 lakh crore. The India AI Impact Summit 2026, organized between 16 to 21 February in the national capital, has been described as the biggest event in the artificial intelligence (AI) field so far. Expected investment of more than 200 billion dollars

According to the official statement, about six lakh people directly participated in this conference. Delegations from more than 100 countries and 20 international organizations also participated in it. According to the statement, investment of more than $200 billion is expected to come in areas like AI infrastructure, basic models, hardware and applications. A total of 92 countries and international organizations supported the India AI Impact Summit manifesto. 13 leading global and Indian AI model developers announced the New Delhi Frontier AI Impact Commitment, which aims to promote trustworthy and inclusive AI deployment.

Adani and Ambani’s announcement

Among the investment commitments made at the conference, Reliance Industries pledged to invest $110 billion over seven years on AI-focused infrastructure, while Adani Enterprises announced plans to invest $100 billion by 2035. Apart from these, General Catalyst has committed to invest $5 billion in five years and Lightspeed Venture Partners has committed to invest $10 billion. Google Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sundar Pichai announced new undersea cable routes between India and the US and investment in a $15 billion AI hub in Visakhapatnam.

Tata Group also made a big announcement

Meanwhile, Tata Group announced a partnership with OpenAI to expand AI-enabled data centres. An important announcement in the conference was related to increasing India’s nationally owned computing capacity. In addition to the more than 38,000 GPUs already available under the India AI Mission, 20,000 more GPUs will be added in the coming weeks, further strengthening the national AI infrastructure. According to the statement, ‘AI Impact Exhibition’ organized on this occasion emerged as one of the largest AI exhibition globally, in which more than 850 exhibitors participated.
