Rejected by her parents, Huang Shuani from China built a successful fashion brand through hard work. Today the annual turnover of his company is more than Rs 300 crore. Her story is an inspiration for millions of women.
Success Story: Even today, there are many families in the world where sons are given more importance than daughters. Huang Shuani of China was born in a family with similar thinking. 44 year old Huang was refused adoption by her own parents in her childhood. But today, with his hard work, he has created a fashion empire with an annual turnover of more than Rs 300 crore.
Parents left them on the mountain to die
Huang was born in a village in Hunan province in central China. She was the sixth daughter among her seven siblings. His parents just wanted a son, so they hated Huang. He was given food while sitting alone in the verandah outside the house. The situation was such that parents often did not even remember their names. Once Huang fell ill, her parents left her on a mountain to die. Luckily, an unknown person saved him and his life was saved.
Huge debts in marriage, divorce and business
Despite all these difficulties, Huang did not lose courage and completed his studies. He obtained a degree in Agricultural Science. After this they got married, but that too was not successful and they got divorced. He did not even get the custody of his only daughter. But Huang did not break down. In 2015, he started selling clothes on China’s big online platform ‘Taobao’ (like Flipkart or Amazon here) by investing 50,000 yuan. He made a lot of profits in the beginning, but by 2017, due to some wrong decisions, he had a debt of 5 million yuan.
And then…Madame’s brand became a hit due to 2 reasons
Instead of being burdened with such a huge debt, he made himself stronger. Huang learned business management and fashion designing on his own. In 2020, he launched his own brand named ‘Mix Selection’. His brand became a hit for two reasons – one, special designs for short height women and second, ‘Neo-Chinese’ fashion, which was a combination of Chinese tradition and modern style.
By 2025, the annual sales of his company will cross 250 million yuan (about Rs 300 crore). Today he has more than 20 lakh followers across the world. Now she is preparing to start an online entrepreneurship course for those girls who are giving up in life. Huang says, ‘I just want to say one thing to girls like me who feel suffocated by family and marriage; Don’t give up. Hang on a little longer, there will definitely be a ray of hope there.
