Real Racing 3 is shutting down after 12 years, final date and rewards revealed

New Delhi: Real Racing 3 is finally slowing down after twelve long years, and honestly it feels a little emotional to write that.  For many mobile gamers, this was the first title that truly felt like a “serious” racer on a phone. Now EA has confirmed that the journey is coming to an end and the shutdown plan is already rolling.

The developers posted a heartfelt goodbye to the community and said, “Hey Racers, Thank you for being part of the Real Racing 3 community. Your passion, dedication, and love for racing have made this journey truly special.” As someone who has seen racing games come and go, this one definitely leaves a gap.

Real Racing 3 shutdown timeline and what players need to know

Electronic Arts stated that the game is being sunset after years of live service updates. The first big change arrived on December 18, 2025 (IST), when Real Racing 3 was delisted from the App Store and Google Play. That means no new downloads for fresh players. Past players can still re-download it from their library. The blog explains, “RR3 will be delisted from App Store and Google Play (no new downloads can happen, but re-downloads will still work for past players from their account history).”

In-app purchases have stopped as well. EA confirmed, “In-App purchases will be disabled. Players won’t be able to buy packs or spend real money. Existing currencies can still be used until March 19, 2026.” After that date, the game goes completely offline and will “no longer be playable” as servers shut down worldwide on March 19, 2026 (IST). Any unused in-game money will expire.

Final update gifts before the servers shut

As a farewell gesture, the final update rewards every player with 1000 Gold, an Audi S1 e-tron quattro, and a 2023 Rimac Nevera. The studio notes, “As a token of appreciation, the final update will grant 1000 Gold, an Audi S1 e-tron quattro, and a 2023 Rimac Nevera to all our players.” If you already own these cars, you get extra gold.

Real Racing 3 launched back in 2013 and quickly became one of the most popular mobile racers worldwide. The studio says, “We’re grateful to you for being a passionate and dedicated community over the past twelve years.” For many racing fans, it really feels like the end of a familiar track. I guess a lot of us will log in a few more times, enjoy those last laps, and say goodbye before March 2026 arrives.
