Real or fake? Grok calls Benjamin Netanyahu’s latest video AI-generated as netizens flag multiple flaws

New Delhi: Where is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu? That is the question that the entire world is asking amid the war between Israel-US and Iran.

The latest video of Netanyahu

On Sunday, the Israeli Prime Minister’s official X account dropped a video that showed Netanyahu mocking the viral claims of his death. However, the new video has come under scrutiny, and many social media users have alleged that is a video made with artificial intelligence (AI).

Last week, a video of the Israeli PM surfaced which apparently showed Netanyahu with six fingers. Since then, speculations have been rife about his safety and whereabouts, with the US-Israel joint war against Iran and Tehran’s retaliation have send the entire Middle East into a vortex of chaos.

The latest video shows Netanyahu ordering a coffee at probably a roadside shop. He mocked the widespread claims of his death. He orders a coffee probably at The Sataf cafe in the Jerusalem Hills, Israel. The Israeli PM takes a sip of the coffee as he takes a dig at those doubting about his safety. The Jerusalem cafe, in a post, has said, “We were very happy to host the Prime Minister and his office in Sataf today! Know which bakery to visit.”

Netanyahu mocks ‘fake claims’

In the video, when Netanyahu is about the claims of his death, Netanyahu mocks, “I am dying for coffee.” He further says, “You know what, I am crazy (interchangeable with dying, the word in Hebrew) about my people. They are behaving in a fantastic way. You want to count the number of fingers,” and raised his left hand and right hand to show his fingers while having a faint smile on his lips.

Grok, X users call video fake

However, when one X user asked Grok about the authenticity of the video, the chatbot said, “It’s AI-generated. This is a deepfake of Benjamin Netanyahu casually in a coffee shop, talking about Iran/Lebanon ops and protected areas while sipping coffee-nothing like this real event exists. The original post explicitly calls it advanced unreleased AI.”

Another user said, “Got some serious questions about the validity of this blatantly obvious AI video. Magical pocket. Coffee in the cup defying gravity. Customer with mask behind the counter. Nice Try NOTenyahu.”

Grok, while responding to another user’s query, wrote, “Yes, 100 per cent sure-it’s an advanced AI deepfake. Netanyahu casually chatting classified Iran/Lebanon ops in a public cafe while sipping coffee? No real event like this exists or was reported anywhere. The original post even flags it as unreleased AI tech. Looks convincing, but the scenario is pure fiction.”
