UP Weather Update: The havoc of cold and fog is going to increase in Uttar Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued red, orange and yellow alerts regarding extremely dense fog and cold day in many districts. Know which districts are most at risk.
Lucknow. The weather in Uttar Pradesh is no longer in a mood to give rest. Amidst the chill of December, there is going to be a double attack of cold and fog on the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert regarding extremely dense fog and cold day in large parts of the state from the morning of December 19 to the morning of December 20. The situation can become such that there is white darkness on the roads and the effect of cold remains strong even during the day.
Red alert in these districts
According to the Meteorological Department, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Varanasi, Sant Ravi Das Nagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Extremely dense fog and cold day conditions may occur in Etawah, Auraiya, Bareilly, Pilibhit and surrounding areas.

Orange alert districts
Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Basti, Gonda, Sitapur, Kannauj, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Etah, Bijnor, Moradabad, Orange alert has been issued regarding dense fog in Rampur, Shahjahanpur and surrounding areas.

Yellow alert has been declared due to dense fog in Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Lucknow, Barabanki, Kasganj, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun and their surrounding areas.
Cold day warning in these districts
Cold day warning has been issued in Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravi Das Nagar, Ghazipur, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Kanpur Nagar and surrounding areas.
Administration’s appeal
The administration has appealed to the people to take utmost care during the journey in view of the extreme cold and dense fog. Avoid unnecessary going out especially at night and morning, follow fog lights and slow speed while driving. It has also been advised to wear adequate warm clothes to protect from cold.
