Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) has completed 10 years. Now the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the government have decided that it is necessary to complete the re-KYC process of Jan Dhan accounts. This will update the information of bank accounts and account holders will not have any problem in banking services.
If your public eats money, then definitely complete your Re-Kyc. This will not interrupt your banking functioning and you will be able to take full advantage of government schemes. Camps will also be set up by banks to complete the re-KYC process of Jan Dhan accounts. You can do this process by going to the camp online or at the panchayat level.
How long will this Re-KYC camp be held?
Camps are being organized at every panchayat level from 1 July 2025 to 30 September 2025 for Jan Dhan accounts. Bank employees themselves are going from village to village and completing the KYC process of Jan Dhan account holders.
In these camps, along with Re-Kyc of Jan Dhan accounts, enrollment in Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), registration in Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and information about Atal Pension Yojana (APY) are also being done. Along with this, financial awareness and complaint solution is also being provided.
What is Re-Kyc?
Re-Kyc has to submit your identity and address information to the bank again. If your documents are old or the address has changed, then you must complete this process. Identification proof in the documents required for Re-Kyc like Aadhaar card, voter ID, PAN card. Address -proofs like ration card, electricity bill, driving license and a passport size photo will be required.
How to do re-kyc online method while sitting at home
If you are a PNB account holder then you can do KYC through mobile banking, internet banking, or ATM. OTP based e-KYC is an option. Apart from this, video KYC facility is also available.
If you are an SBI account holder then adopt this method –
- Log in on SBI’s Internet banking website.
- Click on the tab “My Accounts & Profile”.
- Select “Update KYC” option.
- Enter your profile password.
- Choose the account that KYC is to update.
- Fill the new information and upload the necessary documents.
- Add OTP and submit.
- If there is any change in the documents, then the branch will also have to go to the branch.
