New Delhi: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will lock horns with Chennai Super Kings ( CSK) in their first and only match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 league stage on Sunday. Defending champions RCB began their title defence in a sensational manner after thrashing the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the season-opener last week.
After SRH scored 201/9 in the first innings, Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal smashed brilliant half-centuries to chase the total in just 15.4 overs. While Padikkal scored 61 runs, RCB veteran Kohli remained unbeaten on 69 to help the home side cross the mark comfortably. The holders would be aiming to continue their brilliance in their second game as well.
Meanwhile the Super Kings have had an unfortunate beginning in the 19th edition of the league after suffering two consecutive losses. The five-time champions suffered their first loss against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and followed it up with another defeat against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday. Despite a good batting show, bowlers let the Super Kings down as PBKS chased a big score with ease.
RCB vs CSK head-to-head
Both the sides have locked horns in the IPL on 35 occasions with the Super Kings boasting a much better record than the Royal Challengers. CSK have won 21 times while RCB have emerged victorious on 13 occasions, with a lone fixture ending without a result.
