One source from the franchise speaking to PTI said, “Highly unlikely that any victory parade will happen this year in Bengaluru. We need to stick to the guidelines placed.” Last year, 11 people lost their lives after there was a mad rush to catch the team’s first-ever title win.
Bengaluru’s city police commissioner, Mr SK Singh, said, “There has been an advisory released where we have asked the fans not to celebrate on the streets and to maintain the peace and decorum as well as the security. There will not be any public celebrations, and if one has to carry them out, they can do it indoors.”
Badminton champ PV Sindhu congratulates side
Meanwhile, badminton champion PV Sindhu, who is a well-known fan of the Royal Challengers side, took to her Instagram handle to congratulate the side for their title. Sindhu wrote, “Huge congratulations to the incredible RCB team, the players, the staff, the ownership and the fans. This franchise has carried so much emotion, madness, heartbreak, belief and love over the years, and to see it become back-to-back champions is truly special.
The shuttler also added, “Of course, a Hyderabad vs RCB final would have been the dream. SRH vs RCB would have emotionally destroyed all of us in the best way. But Bangalore, you deserved this. After years of heartbreak. Back-to-back champions.”
