Ravindra Jadeja induced some fun in the dim morning at Guwahati, as he tapped the ball with his finger to get it through the ring in a humorous manner.
Umpire Rod Tucker was handed the ball, and its condition calls for a change.
India advances to Day 2 of the Guwahati Test. The second match’s track has been quite different from the first, offering a great balance between bowling and batting conditions. Indian bowlers have done a remarkable job, and so did the Proteas to have batted throughout the first Day of play.
Umpire Rod Tucker shrugged off Ravindra Jadeja’s hand
Early on Day 2, the ball showed some unconventionality. The second new ball was taken up by India in the ending moments of Day 1’s play. With less than 2 full overs bowled with the new ball, Mohammed Siraj ended the day with Tony de Zorzi’s breakthrough wicket.
After just 12 overs bowled with the new ball, the ball turned disfigured, and Mohammed Siraj handed it to Umpire Rod Tucker.
When Tucker tried to force it through the ball-shaped ring, Ravindra Jadeja, in his own quirky fashion, pecked on the ball with his fingers. Umpire Tucker shrugged his hand off in a fun, engaging exchange.
