New Delhi: Ravindra Jadeja achieved a new milestone in his Test career on Monday as he became the fifth Indian bowler to complete 350 wickets in the longest format.
The left-arm all-rounder achieved the feat during Day 3’s play in the ongoing first Test against at the Galle International Stadium in Galle.
Jadeja dismissed Sri Lanka’s Keshara Nuwantha in the hosts’ first innings on Day 3 to reach 350 wickets in his Test career. He became the fifth Indian after Anil Kumble, R Ashwin, Kapil Dev and Harbhajan Singh to achieve the milestone. Jadeja also became only the 4th player to achieve a rare double in Tests.

Jadeja became the second Indian and fourth player overall to complete the double of 4000 runs and 350 wickets in Test cricket. The senior India all-rounder has 350 wickets and 4095 runs to his name in 89 Test matches in his career so far. Kapil Dev is the only other Indian with more than 4000 runs and 350 wickets for India in Tests.
Ian Botham (5200 runs and 383 wickets) and former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori (4531 runs and 362 wickets) are the only other two players in Test history to have achieved the rare double of 4000 runs and 350 wickets. Jadeja has now joined the trio in the elite list.

Jadeja also became only the third left-arm spinner in Test history to complete 350 wickets in the longest format. Legendary Sri Lankan spinner Rangana Herath leads the elite list with 433 wickets, followed by Vettori, who finished his Test career with 363 wickets. Jadeja is the third-highest wicket-taker among left-arm spinners in Tests.
