Ravi Shastri got good news, stand will be built in 52 year old stadium

Ravi Shastri Stand: Mumbai Cricket Association has decided to build a stand in the name of former Indian captain Ravi Shastri. A stand named after him will be inaugurated at Wankhede Stadium on Thursday. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will also be present in this function. The Level 1 stand below the press box at Wankhede Stadium will be named after Ravi Shastri. Ravi Shastri has brought glory to the country as a player, coach and commentator. Apart from Ravi Shastri, a gate will also be built in the name of Mumbai Cricket Association Dilip Sardesai, Eknath Solkar and Diana Edulji. The decision to honor these veterans was taken in the Supreme Council meeting of MCA.

MCA President saluted

MCA President Ajinkya Naik has saluted all these greats including Ravi Shastri. He said: ‘This ceremony is a proud moment for Mumbai Cricket as we come together to honor these great personalities on April 9. The unveiling of the Ravi Shastri stand, as well as the stadium gates dedicated to Dilip Sardesai, Eknath Solkar and Diana Edulji reflect our deep respect for their invaluable contributions. Ajinkya Naik further said, ‘We look forward to celebrating his legacy at the Wankhede Stadium. We would like the coming generations to maintain the same values.

Ravi Shastri’s career

63 year old Ravi Shastri represented the Indian team for a long time. This legendary player scored 3830 runs in 80 test matches, which included 11 centuries. In ODIs, Shastri scored 3108 runs in 150 matches. He scored 4 centuries in ODI. Shastri took 151 wickets in Test cricket and 129 wickets in ODIs. Shastri took 509 wickets in first class cricket. In first class cricket, he scored 13202 runs with the help of 34 centuries.
