Bollywood’s favourite accidental meme god, Ravi Kishan, has found himself at the epicentre of an online phenomenon, a trend that even his wife, Preeti Shukla, is hilariously trying to contain. The actor-politician recently disclosed on News18 India that his wife’s solution to his continuous viral moments is to simply keep him indoors.
Preeti Shukla’s Amusing Solution to Her Husband’s Viral Outings
Speaking candidly on a segment of News18 India, Ravi Kishan shared his wife Preeti Shukla’s witty remarks regarding his unexpected internet stardom. “My wife told me, ‘Whenever you step out of the house, you go viral.’ So she was telling the kids, ‘Let’s just lock him in this room. That way, he won’t step out, and he won’t go viral,'” Kishan recounted. She further added, with a light-hearted warning, “Kripya aap thode din shaant rahein varna tumhe ghar hi mein hum lock kardenge (Please stay quiet for a few days, otherwise I’ll lock you up at home).”
This isn’t the first time Preeti has taken a proactive role in her husband’s career; Kishan previously revealed she had ‘locked him up’ in Bigg Boss during an earlier phase of his career to humble him when success was making him arrogant.
Married since December 10, 1993, Preeti Shukla and Ravi Kishan share four children – daughters Riva, Ishita, Tanishka, and son Saksham. His daughter Riva Kishan also recently appeared with him on the Amazon Prime Video reality series Alliance, hosted by Kunal Kemmu, where he made a voluntary exit in early July 2026 to fulfil his political responsibilities.
How Ravi Kishan Became an Internet Sensation
Over the past few months, the Lok Sabha MP from Gorakhpur, Ravi Kishan, who was re-elected in 2024, has undeniably transformed into an internet sensation, with countless clips of his public appearances, interviews, and even film dialogues becoming viral meme fodder. His vibrant personality, energetic dance performances, and unique expressions have resonated particularly with Gen Z, who have creatively immortalised his moments online.
Kishan has openly embraced this newfound online popularity, attributing it to the creativity of Gen Z. “The way Gen Z has showered me with so much love, it has been historic, and it is not stopping; it is growing day by day,” he stated, acknowledging the organic nature of the meme wave. He sees it as “pagalpan” (madness) and a blessing.
On the professional front, Kishan remains busy. He was recently seen in films like Dhamaal 4, released on July 10, 2026, where he played a role alongside Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, and Riteish Deshmukh, and Aryabhatt Ka Zero, which hit screens on August 7, 2026. Fans are now eagerly awaiting his appearance in Mirzapur: The Movie, scheduled for a September 4, 2026, theatrical release, and Khosla Ka Ghosla 2, set for August 28, 2026.
